Chelsea Vs Everton Carling Cup Match Review
The Blues managed to edge over the Toffees in a tough Carling cup match at Goodison Park,b>sbo the match included several controversial decisions by the referee such as a lost penalty a red card for each side. Chelsea was given the chance for an early lead as McEachran was rewarded with a penalty which Nicolas Anelka missed. Minutes later, Salomon Kalou scored the first goal for Chelsea through a smart shot that surprised Everton'ssbo goal keeper Mucha who was not able to handle it well as it slipped from his hands into the net.
A foul by Ross Turnbull on Louis Saha got him sent off and a penalty was given to Everton,sbobet Romelu Lukaku was immediately substituted by Petr Cech who wasn't even given enough time to warm up yet managed to save the net with two separate and dangerous shots by Baines and Cahill.

It wasn't long before Malouda launched a wicked shot which was deflected by Mucha for Chelsea's substitute Daniel Sturridge to score from and end the match 2-1 with Chelsea qualifying to the quarter finals.
Andre Villas Boas was happy with the victory especially after the derby loss against QPR in Loftus Road, he also stated that the win is a gift to Chelsea's John Terry who is under investigation for the recent claims that he might have made racist remarks to QPR's Anton Ferdinand.sbo John terry's dilemma recently grew after Anton's older brother Rio Ferdinand made the statement that he believes Terry's remarks were racist.sbobet The police is also investigating the possibility that Anton Ferdinand might have received death threats which were delivered by hand to QPR's loftus road.
